About Puerto Rico Science, Technology & Research Trust
Established in 2004 under Public Law 214 as an autonomous entity, the Puerto Rico Science, Technology & Research Trust stimulates innovation, technology commercialization and the creation of high-technology jobs in Puerto Rico’s targeted industry sectors such as: Life Sciences, Alternative Energy, Environmental & Agricultural Sciences, Computer Science & Information Technologies, Medical Devices, and Aerospace & Aeronautics, among others. The PRCCI initiative is at the forefront of the Puerto Rico Science, Technology and Research Trust’s overall strategy of transforming Puerto Rico into a knowledge-driven economy.
Working together with PRCCI, PRSTRT focuses on establishing Puerto Rico as a clinical research hub and is globally recognized as a leading center for clinical trials, synonymous with superior access to patients, trial delivery effectiveness and unparalleled quality. On the 15 year horizon, PRCCI and further initiatives aim to establish world-class research and manufacturing capabilities in Puerto Rico to create the Science City in San Juan and establish Puerto Rico as a “Bio-Island”.
